The Menu Steel clock is a simple and minimalist clock with steel hands and dial.
The Steel Clock was designed by the Copenhagen studio Norm Architects. Minimalism doesn’t come from the modern era. Many cultures around the world have loved its simplicity since the beginning of civilisation. People have always strived for minimal shapes and material usage as a sign of interior luxury.
Reduction and perfection were and are the goal for craftsmen and inventors, as leaving out the irrelevant means highlighting the important. Norm Architects are advocates of this simplicity, which is also clear in their Steel clock, which was designed by the Danes for Menu. The powder-coated steel appears matte and the soft colours with lightly contrasting hands do not assert themselves. With these features, the Menu Steel clock appears soft and timeless, and is a prime example of Norm’s style, referred to as soft minimalism.
