Quilted blanket with wave pattern
This quilted blanket from Marimekko catches everyone's eye with its pergola pattern. It is made of unbleached cotton with soft, recycled polyester filling. The top of the blanket is adorned with the wave pattern, while the back is off-white.
The Lokki Pergola pattern combines two dynmaic Maija Isola designs from the 1960s.
The idea for the Lokki (seagull) pattern came to Maija Isola when she was looking at a window with a curtain drawn in front of it. The sun was shining and the wide folds of the curtain formed wavy shadows on the curtain's fabric. Maija had a sudden intuition: when a fabric is printed with waves, even a small piece of such fabric looks lushly folded.
