Since 1962 a true classic among the paper knives: Ameland created by the Italian designer Enzo Mari.
The simple and noble paper knife is made of satin-finished and stainless steel and is produced by manufacturer Danese Milano.
However, Ameland is not just a flat blade like the first impression might make you think. Furthermore, the paper knife is a multi dimensional, veered metal strap. With its double blade, the missing bar end and the spun form, it almost causes the idea of an optical illusion with the style of M. C. Escher.
By the way: Enzo Mari allegedly chose the name “Ameland” due to some resemblance with the ground view of the Dutch North Sea island.Also in our blog:
