The Finnish design legend Alvar Aalto designed the NE60 children’s stool. The round surface and the L-like feet create a soft and equally clear form, which is typical for the design language of Aalto. The designs of the Finnish still look modern because of the connection of natural materials with clear, simple forms.
But of course, Aalto didn’t only consider the pretty shape, when he designed the NE60 children’s stool according to his legendary Stool 60 design: As architect he also focussed on the construction and the practical usage. Initially the piece of furniture was designed for the library in Wyborg, which is why it also fulfils practical demands of ergonomics and resistance.
Artek produces the NE60 children’s stool out of painted birch veneer. The four-foot piece is also available with a seat out of black linoleum, white laminate and with the Mumin décor besides the natural birch wood edition. The N65 children’s chair and the 90B children’s table perfectly suit the Artek stool, since all of them represent Aalto’s clear and harmonic handwriting.
