Scholten & Baijings designed a service that mirrors the tradition in modern times for Georg Jensen. The “Tea with Georg” étagère was inspired by Japanese tea culture.
The name of the Tea with Georg étagère is a tribute to the silver smith Georg Jensen, whose name is still a synonym for table culture today. Scholten & Baijings designed a collection of dishes for tea and coffee based on traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, adding some modern elements. That’s how the series of Georg Jensen offers a modern touch to traditional, ancient rituals.
The Tea with Georg étagère by Georg Jensen is made of high gloss polished stainless steel and porcelain and it has– typical for the designers Scholten & Baijings – a graphical lines pattern on the top.
Besides the étagère, the Tea with Georg collection also includes a teapot, a teapot warmer, tea cups, a sugar bowl and a milk jug.
