Allas is a heavy, massive candlestick out of cast-iron and has been designed by the Norway designer Andreas Engesvik for Iittala.
”The idea for Allas emerged during a dinner with friends. It was autumn and already very dark outside. There were diverse candlesticks together in the middle of the table. I looked to the window from where I sat, , and then I remarked the reflection of the candles in the glass. All lights formed a collection of candles in different heights. It looked as beautiful as a concentrated, strong light source – with the plates on the table and the reflection of the lights. That is Allas – a light carrier – emerged”, explained the designer Andreas Engesvik about the origin of Allas.
The shapely Allas Candle Holder is an innovative and modern alternative to common candlesticks. Allas can be equipped with six candles, assorted on different heights, creating a three-dimension effect. The combination of different-coloured candles can set further accents.Also in our blog:
