The Kay Bojesen bear consists of oak and maple wood. The exceptional workout and the high quality wood mean enjoyment for every generation. The wooden bear is part of a collection of wooden animals which have been created by the designer Kay Bojesen between 1935 and 1957. The Danish manufacturer Rosendahl Design Group manufactures the wooden creatures in tight cooperation with Kay Bojesen’s family today.
Not only in the children’s room, but also in shelves and offices, the wooden animals by Kay Bojesen are meanwhile desired collectors’ pieces which are given from generation to generation. This is why the animals are perfect to be offered at events that celebrate life: baptisms, birthdays, confirmations, highschool gradiations, marriages, anniversaries.
Bojesen himself continued the mantra that good design has to be human, warm and vivid during his whole life: ”They should remind of a circus”, is what he used to say about his work, from which his wooden animals might be the most desired ones.
Kay Bojesen counts to the really giant Danish functionalists with his user friendly and modern shaping. In his naïve designs form and object, seriousness and game melt to a unity. At the same time Bojesen has the unique skill of vitalizing wood, which makes his works international deisgn icons.
