The German painter and graphic designer Martin Freyer designed the famous Plissée Vase in 1968, which has been rereleased by Rosenthal for the ‘50 Years of Studio-Line’ series.
The Plissée Vase is part of the Structures series by the manufacturer Rosenthal. This collection possesses a special design philosophy: surface becomes decoration, character-forming, though also subdued. The pure brilliance of the surface structure is highlighted through the lack of colour.
Like all vases from Rosenthal, the Plissée Vase by Martin Freyer is also made from porcelain. Rosenthal’s decision to not use colour makes the pure brilliance of the porcelain very appealing.
