The Danish architect and designer Poul Kjærholm equipped the city hall of Fredericia with furniture in 1963. The trained carpenter also designed the fittings on his own. The Danish also created a 30 x 60 x 60 cm ashtray out of marble as special piece of jewellery, which exceeded everything that existed as smoker’s utilities until then with its 250 kg.
The big edition of the PK-Bowl is only produced by ArchitectMade on demand today, but Poul Kjærholm also made a smaller edition to be used in homes because of the big demand: The robust material makes the PH-Bowl out of granite even more resistant and handier than the big idol.
The ArchitectMade PK-Bowl out of granite is naturally not only useful as ashtray, but also as bowl for all kinds of other small things. It is an eye-catcher in the classic 1963 format and with it a timeless and longevity piece of design which survives several generations.
