Art Prints of Award-winning Architecture
The brothers Mogens and Flemming Lassen belong to the greatest functionalists of Denmark with their characteristic architecture. Designer Kristina Dam created her architecture art prints for by Lassen as a tribute to the work of the brothers.
The art print of House of Future shows a trend-setting architectural project, which wasn’t only the starting point of Flemming Lassen’s career, but also for the ascent of the great Arne Jacobsen. The “House of Future” – or the original name: “Fremtidens Hus” – won the eponymous competition of designing a house for the future in 1927. A model of the House of Future was built in Copenhagen two years later: Not only new construction and material techniques such as the spherical form out of concrete with flat roofs were revolutionary.
Visionary Ideas from the 1920s
The House of Future according to the plans had a helicopter landing platform as well as a boathouse, blinds to wind down like those in a car, a foot mat with integrated vacuum cleaner and a pneumatic delivery system. The antenna on the roof should later serve to get energy wirelessly. A big common room and enormous glass surfaces were to make the House of Future bright and friendly.
This icon of architecture, which emerged separately from the German Bauhaus movement was paid tribute with the art print of by Lassen and Kristina Dam. And legendary architecture can makes its way into any house.
