One line in the room
The Sinus Trestle by L&Z consist of only one piece of steel pipe that was curved into its static ideal form. Based on its material, the Sinus is extremely robust and promises a well handling because of its minimum use of materials.
The open form offers space for necessary freedom of leg movement. The separation from the table top makes it possible to vary different table length, fast rearranging because of its grip for a new interior design or whenever you do not need Sinus you can just stack it and save space. In case of permanent screwing the table top to its trestle, you can find already bored holes below the buffer.
Sinus Trestle made of steel
The common paper clips was the inspiration for L&Z idea how to get the maximum out of the usage of a product with a minimum of fabrication but still a striking design: the L&Z Sinus consists of only one curved piece of steel pipe that is merely bent into its final shape after the cut. Responsible for this radical design is Daniel Lorch.
Sinus' design was designed from the basic thoughts of elementary architectural conditions and functions of a table: weight and carrying, legs and surface, trestle and taple top. Which of these meaningful modifications or extensions of these basic conditions are important for the requirements of the present? How can simplicity, material efficiency, stability and flexibility into one shape?
Which advantages has the separation of table top and legs? Is it possible to reduce and costs of production and materials of an Eiermann- trestle? Sinus is the answer.
