Steadfast and cool: The AM08 is a pedestal fan of a special kind. The patented technology and all the important qualities were improved by Dyson compared to its precursor AM03.

The Pedestal Fan AM08 by Dyson works with the air multiplier technology, which suctions air and reinforces it – without common rotor blades. It creates the biggest air stream among all the air multiplier technology Dyson fans: Up to 600 litres of air circulate every second, which is an air velocity of maximally 3 metres per second for effective cooling.

And this is how the air multiplier technology works: The air is accelerated through a small slot in the air ring of the ventilator. This is how a ring-like air stream grows. It is led across an inclined surface, which us shaped like a wing in order to channel the direction of the air beam. The new inclined surface and other improvements of the Dyson AM08 make it 35% more quiet and more energy efficient than its precursor AM03.

Contrasting other pedestal fans, where the height is adjusted with a bulky clamp fixture, this fan has a spring feather, which makes it possible to change the direction of the air ring without any effort. The fan is ideally suitable to be used in bigger rooms, including the living room and offices, since the height of the pedestal fan AM08 is adjustable from 1.0 to 1.4 metres.

AM08: Patented Technology by Dyson

The air multiplier technology by Dyson eliminates rotor blades and ventilation wheels in the AM08. Common fans with rotor blades create a sudden, irregular air stream, since they cut the air with their wings. The air multiplier technology reinforces the primary air stream. This enables a balanced, pleasant air stream – without interruptions.

The missing rotor blades make the pedestal fan AM08 by Dyson very safe – even for children. The missing grid is also practical because the fan can thus simply be wiped if you wish to clean it.

The strength of the air stream of the air multiplier AM08 can be adjusted in two steps. The motor without brushes is furthermore absolutely energy efficient.

The Pedestal Fan AM08 by Dyson comes with a remote control, which makes it possible to switch it on or off from any position in the room without any problems. Moreover, you can adjust the air’s intensity as well as its direction. The remote control also has magnets so that you will be able to fix it directly on the device so you can always find it. A timer completes the comfort and safety, since you will be able to adjust the time when the fan should switch itself off from 15 minutes to 9 hours.

The work of engineers

The engineers at Dyson have a special absorber chamber to measure and compare the noise created by the old and the new generation of the air multiplier fan. The chamber guarantees an absolutely quiet testing area. The foam on the walls ensures absorbtion of the sound waves and avoids reflection. With this test, the engineers are able to recognise where optimisation is needed.
