Chair with a safari look
The KK47000 Safari Chair was designed by Kaare Klint in 193 3. The designer found inspiration in an African travel guide, which featured a photo of a couple sitting on the classic Indian Roorkhee chairs. The fact that the chair could be put together without any assembly material inspired the designer and was incorporated into his design for Carl Hansen .

The prototype was created using glueless joints and an intelligent construction that gave the chair secure stability. The final model was finally presented at the Copenhagen Cabinetmaker's Guild Exhibition in 1933 and immediately met with enthusiasm.
Armchair made of wood, leather and canvas
In addition to its practical advantages, the Safari Chair is characterized above all by its natural materials. While the base frame is made of ash wood, the upholstery is made of canvas fabric. Special accents are set by the leather straps and applications. The result is a piece of furniture that is an eye-catcher in any setting and - as the name suggests - is reminiscent of adventurous safari tours.
Limited edition in denim fabric
On the occasion of London Craft Week 2019, Carl Hansen is launching a new version of the chair together with the traditional British manufacturer Hiut Denim, thus capturing the modern zeitgeist. With covers made of high-quality denim, the classic and timeless Safari Chair by Kaare Klint is given a contemporary and urban touch that fits perfectly into modern city apartments, for example.
