A Bovist is a small, spherical mushroom. The name-giver of Vitra is round and a decorative floor cushion, a stool and an Ottoman at the same time. By its embroidery Bovist doesn’t only act friendly and colourful; also its practical usage is immense.
The friendly form and the good seating comfort are given to Bovist by its lateral multiple-sewed covers and a filling of small synthetic spheres. Huge embroideries offer a special graphical appeal to the different-coloured tissues that cover the seat. This is how the Hella Jongerius designed Bovist has multiple usages and does fantastically suit in nearly every surrounding. It doesn’t matter how you wish to use it – Bovist is multifunctional.
Thanks to the low weight and a handle out of knitted thread, Bovist can easily be re-placed at home. The fabrics cover consists of 70% viscose and 30% linen.
