The traditional Italian manufacturer Zanotta has 12 products in its collection, cnamed “Evergreen” today – one of the most exclusive members of that family is the Sacco beanbag, designed by Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini and Franco Teodoro In 1968.
Sacco is a real trend-setter, since it is the first beanbag of the world! The Italian designers searched for a chair, which would perfectly adapt to the human body, when they had the idea to fill bags with polystyrene balls. These ones were already characterized by their extreme flexibility, they were weightless and functional therefore and cheap to be produced. A successful idea which fast entered the people’s lives.
After 40 years the beanbag is still very popular – thereby there are many copies – some of them beautiful and some not. But the Sacco, the original, remains the winner of our hearts.
