The traditional Italian manufacturer Zanotta has 12 products in its collection named “Evergreen” today: one of the exclusive members of this family is the Sacco beanbag, created by the designers Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini and Franco Teodoro in 1968.
Sacco is a piece of furniture which has truly created style because it is the first beanbag in the world! The Italian designers searched for seating, which would perfectly adapt to the human body, when they had the idea of filling bags with styrofoam balls. These were characterised by extreme flexibility even then, were functional as they were not very heavy and were inexpensive to produce. A pioneering idea which quickly entered into young people’s lives.
The beanbag is still very popular after 40 years: it is impossible to miss the large number of copies, some of them beautiful and some less so, but Sacco, the original has still not been equalled today.
The classic beanbag from Zanotta is available in two smaller sizes as Sacco Medium and Sacco Small. Further fabric and colour editions of the Sacco beanbag are also available on request!
