Chair with organic cutouts
The expressive Contour Chair was designed by Børge Mogensen in 1949 and embodies the unmistakably organic design language of the Danish designer.
Solid wood frame
The lounge chair consists of a solid wooden frame with angled legs and a backward sloping seat. Upholstery with high-quality covers ensures maximum comfort. The Countor Chair gets its unmistakable character from its moulded veneer backrest. The material was new at Mogensen's time and enabled a multitude of design possibilities. The Contour Chair has two organically shaped cutouts in the backrest, which ensure a great eye-catcher and an airy, light appearance.
Traditional tenon joints
The frame features typical Mogensen details such as tenon joints with contrasting wooden wedges. With the Contour Chair, the designer has created a piece of furniture that tells a story of technology, materials and craftsmanship, while lightness in form and material blends with comfort and flexibility.
