Scandinavian Bar Stool
The Family Chair No. 3 is a design by designer Lina Nordqvist, who created the chair as part of her final thesis at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm. Her intention was to place the traditional Swedish rung chair in a modern context and to reinterpret the traditional craftsmanship.
The result is a small collection of lovingly designed chairs for Design House Stockholm that lives up to its name 'Family': The idea behind the collection is to create a series of chairs in which everyone has their own character, an individual appearance - just like in a real family. This means that the base of the individual chairs always remains the same, but the rung backrest is designed differently for each of the four models.
Made of Beech Wood
The Family Chair No. 3 made of lacquered beech wood in different colours. The chair's fan-shaped backrest offers pleasant comfort and at the same time provides a traditional yet modern touch in any ambience. Arranged in several different variations at the dining table or placed individually as an eye-catcher in the hallway, the No. 3 with Scandinavian design stylishly combines past and present. It is not for nothing that Lina Nordqvist was awarded the Accent on Design Award in New York and the prize for 'Chair of the Year' by Swedish design magazine ELLE for her 2009 collection.
