The Steelwood Chair from Magis is a reaction to the meanwhile widely spread trend of manufacturing plastic chairs. Magis has already produced numerous plastic objects however, this time the designers wanted a further development and the production of something different and new.
The French designers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec designed the Steelwood chair, as the name already reveals, from metal and wood. The seat and legs are made of solid beech wood, while the back and armrests consist of metal. Together the twomaterials form an exceptional chair that breaks with conventions. Wood and metal stand in contrast to each other, at the same time complementing each other perfectly.
In contrast to plastic chairs, Steelwood from Magis is going to become a piece with individual character over the years, becoming more beautiful every year.
The Steelwood Armchair from Magis is available in four different variants. The backrest is made of steel plate, the seat and legs consists of solid beech wood.Also in our blog:
