Aesthetics from today – clear and perfectly shaped.
The awarded chair Wogg 50 from the Swiss company Wogg combines convincing form-speaking meets modern proceeding techniques. The result is a chair of the newest generation: weightless, stackable and multi-functionally usable.
The design from the Wogg 50 was coined by Jörg Boner. The construction of the chair is simple ant bright: a seating area that was curved at four sides, adopts the leg pairs and backrest on both exterior sides. Form plywood shapes the aesthetic of the chair.
To press plywood into a form is an old technique that has fast continued developing with the insert of the CNC mill technique. Complex form pieces are laid into the pressing tool and can be directly pressed with the plywood. Thereby new possibilities emerged in the shaping and construction areas, what Wogg 50 used as its advantage.
The constructive core of the Wogg 50 chair is the pressed core under the seat shell. For its completed design and the practical advantages, the Wogg 50 chair was honoured with the Red Dot Design Award in the year 2011 as well as with the interior innovation award.
