Vitra Eames RAR rocking chair with plastic seat shell
The Plastic Armchairs were first presented in 1948 as part of the "Low Cost Furniture Design" competition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The organically shaped seat shell made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic was later combined with various underframes, such as the RAR's rocking skids, and produced millions of times. In their current version made of polypropylene, the armchairs offer even greater seating comfort.
The rocking chair Eames RAR of the Eames Plastic Armchairs from the Vitra Home collection is available in different colours.
Please note: Vitra has adjusted the dimensions for the RAR 2019. So far the seat height was 33 cm. All chairs marked 'seat height: 37 cm' are already the new models. In addition, the dimensions of the runners (81 cm) and the width (63 cm) have changed.
