Armchair by Vico Magistretti
The Carimate armchair from Fritz Hansen pays tribute to Vico Magistretti, who in 1959 designed the original red Carimate for the golf club of the same name in Italy. In the re-edition, small changes have been made to the seat height and backrest design. The chair is available in homage to the original design versions in red and black lacquer.
Linen handmade
The chair with the curved armrests consists of a frame made of wood with a seat made of woven linen. Fritz Hansen has used European, non-GMO flax for the flag linen. For the comfortable seat, 110 meters of it are woven by hand.
"The Carimate is a special chair with a strong presence and personality. Vico Magistretti created a modern classic with this design. It can stand perfectly well as a solitaire and looks equally good as dining table seating" , says Christian Andresen, Fritz Hansen s Head of Design.
Each chair is individually numbered on a brass plaque under the seat for authenticity and longevity.
