Filigree metal bar stool
The idea for Hee was born out of the desire to design an environmentally friendly chair and armchair series whose materials would be easy to recycle. By making a piece of furniture from a single material, you avoid environmentally harmful transport routes between different production sites, and it also simplifies the recycling process.
The basic idea was to take an archetypal chair as a model and to perfect it in every single detail, to raise the design to a class, to simplify the structure and improve the functionality at the same time. The aim was to create a clear, simple piece of furniture that would fit into many places - modern, but not so time-specific that it could not be used for a long time.
There's nothing superfluous about this barstool, nothing merely decorative. No part could be removed without losing the function. It looks playful from the outside, but the design does not affect its function in any way. The throwaway mentality and environmental awareness do not go together.
Finding the right balance was also decisive in the design - in order to combine functionality and aesthetics at a high level, exactly the right wire thickness had to be selected. The Hee The chairs, the lounge chair and also the bar stools are made of 11 mm thick metal wire and their shape is reminiscent of a sketch, a three-dimensional pencil drawing.
Hee is available as a club chair, as a dining chair or as a bar chair. He can be seen in the new Oslo Opera House and the Australian Parliament, among others. The stackable furniture is galvanized and powder coated. They can therefore withstand any weather and are therefore also ideal for outdoor seating.
Hay Hee is available in different colours and heights.
