Open Bookcase Made of Wood
Pierre-François Dubois designed a bookshelf for the french manufacturer Hartô which he called Simone. It is a shelf with three levels, held together by wooden poles. Dubois was inspired by the scaffolding made of bamboo, which can be found everywhere in Asia.
Slanted Poles out of Solid Oak
Unlike the models from the far east, Simone is made from solid oak and completed with MDF shelves out of oak veneer or other colours that complement the framework. The bookshelf provides plenty of space for books, pictures, dishes, vases, table lamps and other accessories and souvenirs.
Thanks to the minimal depth, the open shelf is ideal to stylishly display books. Its discreet appearance also means that it is versatile and can function as a sideboard in the living room as well as shelves in the hallway.
