The Bookshelf Squilibri by Skitsch, made of powder-coated metal, creates a weightless impression and refreshens the sight with its asymmetrical forms, which were assembled from three modules to a shelf.
Floating Books on Jammed Levels
The shelf consists of three rectangular parts or shelf levels that are linked together. It seems as if the three levels had stuck together and now support and hold each other. The modules are deliberately asymmetrically arranged and can create the impression, the shelf is very light, and some elements of the shelf would float. When the Squilibri shelf (Italian for imbalances) is fully packed with books, this effect is especially shown and the books seem to float in the air at an angle.
Open Room Divider
Since the shelf made of powder-coated metal, has no front or back and is open to both sides, it may perfectly serve as room divider and be placed in the middle of the room. Also other items besides books find their place and can be stored in the three levels of the bizarre-looking but functional 160cm high bookcase.
