Elegant coffee table with a slender frame
The Palette Table JH8 by &tradition is a concept by the Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. The design originated from the idea to put static objects in motion. Hayon achieved the desired dynamic through a three-tier table model, that was inspired by the kinetic sculptures of Alexander Calder. As in a mobile, the tiers seem to revolve around each other, creating an impression of lightness and elegance.
Mix of materials: marble, wood and brass
Different shapes, materials and colours result in a kind of collage, whose tiers are connected by an architectural metal frame in steel.
A round surface made of brass serves as the base, which is topped by a coloured glazed oak tabletop in kidney form. A small, elongated pedestal made of marble forms the upper end and complements the colour ensemble.
With a playful approach, Hayon creates an object that passes as work of art, rather than a piece of furniture. Nevertheless, the JH8 perfectly integrates in modern as well as classical interiors and becomes a compositionally impressive eye-catcher in every living room.
