Elegant side table with filigree frame
The Palette Table JH8 is a design by the Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. The design arose from the idea of setting static objects in motion. Hayon achieved the desired dynamics with a three-tiered table model inspired by the kinetic sculptures of Alexander Calder. Like a mobile, the levels seem to circle around each other, creating an impression of lightness and elegance.
Material mix: marble, wood and brass
Different forms, colours and materials create a kind of collage, whose levels are connected by an architecturally effective metal frame made of steel.
A round brass plate serves as the base, while the colourfully glazed oak plate in kidney shape is placed on top. A small, elongated marble pedestal forms the upper end and completes the colourful ensemble.
With a playful approach Hayon creates an object that passes for a work of art rather than a piece of furniture. Nevertheless, the JH8 integrates perfectly into modern as well as classic interiors and provides a compositionally impressive eye-catcher in every living room.
