Unusual side table
Samuel Wilkinson designed Hoof SW1 for & Tradition, a side table with a rather unusual look. The designer was inspired by the hooves that gave the table its name: These are the protective part on the feet of animals - and the "hooves" of the Hoof table have exactly the same effect.
Untreated and earthy
The purpose of the unpainted feet is to protect the table legs from flaking paint caused by damage and to give the Hoof table an original, rough, handcrafted look. The fact that the table legs of the Hoof Table are sharpened further enhances the natural appearance of the side table from & Tradition: they look like poles that can be driven into the ground. In this way they give the table from & Tradition an earthy character.
Rough and yet filigree
This rough character stands in exciting contrast to the filigree table top, which is softly rounded and appears very light due to its slimness. It is the tension and the interplay of these different attributes that makes the Hoof table, made of solid oak by & Tradition, so special.
The Hoof Table is also available as a coffee table with a larger diameter and lower height.
