Unusual side table
Samuel Wilkins designed a side table with an unusual appearance: the Hoof Table SW1 he made for &Tradition was inspired by horse’s hoofs, which protect their feet from animals – the “hoofs” of the Hoof Table have the same effect.
Untreated and earthy
The utility of the unpainted legs is to protect the legs from detaching lacquer, giving the table additionally the unusual, rough handcrafted appeal. The fact that the legs of Hoof are pointed reinforces the natural appeal of the &Tradition side table even more: They look like stakes that can be rammed in the ground. The table from &Tradition therewith gets an earthy character.
Rough and still filigree
The rough character contrasts thereby the filigree table top, which is softly rounded and which looks weightless because of its slenderness. The tension and the interplay of these different attributes is what makes the Hoof Table SW1 made of oak wood special.
The Hoof Table is also available as couch table with a larger diameter and lower height.
