Ateenan Aamu was designed by Kaj Franck for the Finnish company Iittala in 1954. Beautiful Greece served as inspiration for the ornamental glass object for the designer. When the wind moved the glass parts, the sound reminded Kaj Franck of church bells in Athens of a Sunday morning. Accordingly, ‘Ateenan Aamu’ means ‘Athenian Morning’ in English.

The Ateenan Aamu ornament brings liveliness into your home. It is stylish as a soloist and as part of an orchestra with multiple others, making a glass curtain in front of your window, beside the fireplace or in the middle of the room. The design of Ateenan Aamu dates back to 1954. The glass object was then part of the Nuutajärvi Art Collection. It was produced from 1954-1975 and from 1992-1994.

Ateenan Aamu by Iittala is made of free-blown glass. On request, it is available in three different models.
