Powerful colours and patterns, abstract and geometric shapes or unique colour constellations: This is the world of Alexander Girard. The architect and designer is one of the formative figures of American post-war design. The focus of his creation was designing textiles, where he developed his love for colours, textures and graphic patterns. His designs such as the Black and White Canvas Graphic now enhance the accessories collection of Vitra.
Alexander Girard has developed printing fabric panels as equipment for offices, in order to make them more livable with an emotional component since 1971: the Environmental Enrichment Panels, which include the Black and White Canvas Graphic. For the panels, the designers prefers to work with abstract graphic patters or figurative images such as love, comfort, freedom etc. The large wall panels with their diverse and inspiring motifs have often been used in private facilities.
The re-edition of Environmental Enrichment Panels by Vitra consists not only of the Black and White Canvas Graphic, but includes several, differently sized, high-quality art screen prints on canvas. The Vitra art prints are mounted on a board with distance frames, are easily fixed and become individual decorative pieces for homes and workplaces.
