get to the heart
The small dot cushions by Charles and Ray Eames gets to the heart of the motto of the designer duo. “Everything is connected”.
Famous for their iconic sitting furniture Charles and Ray Eames are the most influential designers of the 20th century. Architecture and furniture design weren’t the only branches they influenced, since they also designed some selected textiles. Some of their textiles are monochromatic and others multicoloured.
The fabrics are often ornamented by hand-drawn, geometric shapes that become a pattern when they are repeated. The trained painter Ray Eames designed the Eames Dot pattern in 1949. The pattern is based on hand-drawn designs of the artist, created on an exact grid. The popular textile design has been printed on napkins, bags, curtains and cushions since then. In doing so the stylish design with the simple colours fits in every living room.
