The designer Hella Jongerius combines traditional and industrial handicraft in her works. She likes to experiment with newish and traditional materials, patterns and production techniques when she designs furniture, dishes and textiles.
Jongerius also combined new with old in her Park Woven cushion. The pattern of floral forms and geometric lines is based on archive designs of silk ties, produced in a Swedish weaving factory. Hella Jongerius creates new patterns by means of repeating her geometric patterns, mirroring them with positive and negative variations.
The special warm colours of the cushions are wonderfully combinable with other fabrics and upholstery and they therewith introduce a bit of comfort into the homely rooms.
