Squaring of the Circle is a collection of cushions, designed by the Spanish designer Cristian Zuzunaga. The colourful design enqueues pixels beside each other.
Individuality is the topic of Squaring of the Circle. Each cushion has an individual, dynamic and unique appearance. The colours of the graphic pattern thereby include shiny, soft and strong variants. Zuzunaga offers the cushions in different colour combinations.
The colourful appearance of the Squaring of the Circle covers express Cristian Zuzunaga’s desire of filling people’s everyday qwith colours and positive emotions. The graphic design is inspired by architecture and the details images of city maps.
The pixels pattern from Zuzunaga comes from the magnification of city maps until there were only geometric forms recognizable. Cristian Zuzunaga understands the design as metaphor of world capitals: It shows how the combination of many individual details compose a city, being full of personality because of them.
Zuzunaga produces the Squaring of the Circle pillowcases out of the Kvadrat Trevira-CS textile. The robust fabric is washable at 40°C. The content of the pillow filling by Zuzunaga is made of 100% duck feathers, coated by a cover out of 100% cotton.
Please note that every cushion is unique because of the production out of a long fabrics panel, so that it might differ from the image.
