Graphic Cotton Tea Towels
The Illusion dishcloths are a series of woven tea towels made of 100% thick, durable cotton. The motifs by designer Anne Lehmann are based on geometric shapes and lines - grid, pixel, circles, rectangles and squares that adorn the kitchen towels in a positive-negative look.
It means that the colours are reversed on the back and allow to easily change the appearance by turning the dishtowels.
Anne Lehmann: "The idea for the tea towels was developed by the desire to use weaving technologies to create new patterns. I wanted to give an extra dimension to a product that is often very simple, by designing attractive graphical patterns, which create a new dynamic. The weaving is ideal for this purpose, because the back of the fabric looks different, though the patterns are the same."
The surprisingly broken patterns deceive the eye in different ways and that’s why each one unfolds a distinct and special effect. Elements of classic tea towels have been reinvented, to achieve a contemporary and fashionable look.
