The Eames Plastic Side Chair was created in 1950 in cooperation with Zenith Plastics for the "Low Cost Furniture Design" competition of the Museum of Modern Art. With that it was the first industrial-made chair made of plastic. The design was coined by the legendary American design-brothers Charles and Ray Eames.
Now the Eames Plastic Side Chair found its matching cushion, this one optimizes the seat comfort. The solution of that comes from Germany, where the company Hey Sign designs and develops since 1999 "Innovations made of felt". In the collection found also some cushions acceptance, which were especially designed for classic-chairs by Vitra and Fritz Hansen.
If in the private area, in restaurants, in waiting areas, offices or conference rooms: The Eames Side Chair wins through the flat felt cushions out of the convenient and ecologic precious, because renewable material also administrate on convenience, without an awkward factor on the concept and the design of the Vitra-classics. And thanks to the anti-slippery cover the cushion won't slip around, instead it will be stand where it should.
The felt-cushion is also available without anti-slippery cover, and other colours. Moreover there are also double-cushions available (two cushions sewn together) with or without filling.
