»Kishu Binchotan« is a special activated coal made from Japanese holm oak. It is fired by manual labour and is activated. By the compound of activated coal and a unique pore structure, Binchotan cleans the drinking water from chlorine, pesticides, herbicides and solvents, as for example benzene. Furthermore, the water is ionised.
The size of the carbon pieces is perfectly matched to the collection of Auerberg's water carafes.
handling and care
Please use exclusively tap water in connection with the Binchotan activated coal. Your Binchotan coal is already washed and ready for use. Please do not wash with dissolver or soap. Please do not wash with aromatised tonics or juices. Please remove the Binchotan coal before washing the bottle. Through pouring boiling water over the Binchotan coal, the previously absorbed impure particles are released again. Do not drink the water that has been in contact with the Binchotan coal for over 48 hours.
Once in a while you will find some tiny particles / fragments of the Binchotan activated coal in the water, but nevertheless, there is no reason to worry: Swallowing these tiny particles is neither dangerous nor harmful (charcoal tablets are used for medical treatment, e.g. to medicate diarrhoea, digestive disorders or flatulences).
