These double-walled glasses were developed by designer Masato Yamamoto for Bodum. The drinking glasses are available in three product lines: Canteen, Pavina and Assam. The Canteen glass series was awarded the RedDot Design Award and the German Design Prize.
These double-walled glasses offer more advantages in comparison to normal single-walled glasses:
- Hot drinks can be held in the hand without a handle
- With cold drinks, no condensation forms on the glass surface
- the drinks remain hot or cold for longer than they would in single-walled glasses.
People believe that the inventor of stemmed glasses was inspired by the idea of wine floating in the air. The double-walled drinking glasses by Bodum are a further way of letting your drink “float”.
