The Kartio drinking glass series was designed in 1958 by Kaj Franck for the Finnish design manufacturer Iittala and captivate with their constant simplicity:

"If you want to create a perfect glass, you have to start with the hand that holds the glass. You have to ask yourself what kind of glass that hand would like to hold."

So far, many attempts have been made to create the Kartio Kaj Franck drinking glasses by applying his rational geometry to new designs. All of these attempts have failed because the designers did not have the experience required when designing simple everyday objects. Complexity is rarely wise, while simplicity requires courage and imagination.

The Kartio -series is elegant, yet durable enough for everyday use. It includes glasses, decanters and bowls, all available in several different colors as well as clear glass. All colors offered by Iittala are available.
