Stripes that suit everything. Designer Annika Rimala had this in her head when she designed the world-famous Tasaraita pattern in the 60s. Today the straight-lined pattern is indispensable in fashion, design and many other branches, which the expressive Tasaraita mug with handle by Marimekko proves.
Tasaraita was originally designed by Annika Rimala for the fashion world. It was the first time that graphically simple and yet strong stripes made their way onto clothing. And much more: Tasaraita was the first unisex collection. The first clothes made for both women and men.
Rimala wanted to express this highly contemporary philosophy right from the design, where the multicoloured stripes are equally large: different and with their own character, though completely equal. And when combined the whole charm is unleashed. Simple. Timeless. Striped.
The Marimekko Tasaraita mug brings this philosophy to the kitchen and the dining table. With 250mL, there’s space in the Tasaraita mug with handle by Marimekko for a large coffee, though of course also a tea or another drink. The Finnish manufacturer produces the designer coffee mugs with handles from stoneware.
