The Tools series was created by Björn Dahlström for the Finnish design manufacturer Iittala in 1998.

Tools is a range of pots and pans that serve a dual purpose: not only are they high-quality cooking utensils, but their stunning design and sturdy, oversized handles make them ideal for bringing your culinary creations directly to the table – no doubt to an appreciative audience.

The designer Björn Dahlström worked in cooperation with world class chefs and materials specialists in order to develop attractive, highly functional devices whose clever features and impeccable construction lend themselves to a variety of cooking techniques. The Tools pots and pans are generously dimensioned.

They are ideal for large dinner parties as well as for everyday use. The cooking pots feature measuring scales and a compound bottom with several layers that spread and contain heat evenly.

The oven tray is a masterpiece of functional, appealing design. Depending on the version, the cooking pots have a capacity of 2, 3, 5 and 8 litres, the casserole with lid has a capacity of 2 or 3 litres and the sauteuse 2.5 litres. The Iittala Tools cooking pots are suitable for all types of stoves, including gas and induction stoves. In 2009, readers of the magazines “Schöner Wohnen” and “Essen und Trinken” awarded the the pots of the Iittala Tools series the “White Star in Gold”.
