Multiple award-winning designer Karim Rashid has achieved a gem in terms of design with the Doride floor lamp. The minimalistic Doride lamp consists of a stable steel base, inside which the electronics are hidden and from which the metallic, flexible shaft flows into the lamp head.
The Doride can be rotated 350 degrees, has a touch dimmer and comes with diagonally laid-out ventilation grilles made of thermoplastic material. These grilles provide glare-free light, which can be set to direct or indirect as desired.
The Artemide Doride by Karim Rashid is characterised as a leaf in the wind, a line from a pen or a wave rising vertically. ‘I designed the concept when I was 19 years old and studying at university. To see the Doride family in real life now is like a dream come true, thirty years later.’
