Marie-Louise Gustafsson’s Mañana Lamp seems to come out of a comic, a brave caricature which leans at a wall and only waits for someone that switches it on. So, why shouldn’t a lamp have an own character, a demand, a will, a graphite grey sketching portrait with the power of shining like a light?
Marie-Louise’s approach follows mimics of her everyday “I”, which is especially displayed in the lamp’s shade, which is adjustable. “I hardly found an idea this fast as this one, but the Mañana Lamp came like a thunder. I worked hard before an exposition and needed to relax and to change a bit my surrounding, into different forms. And suddenly came just this position, as if it came out of a sketch book. I fast ran to the Workshop!“
