The Massaud table lamp w083 from Wästberg asks the question: Can lamps be art? It doesn’t matter what the answer is, the design object by Jean-Marie Massaud convinces as table lamp.
The table lamp w083 refers to topics like light, gravity, simplicity and harmony as sculptural object. The table lamp by Wästberg acts weightless and reduced, its minimalistic corpus seems to float impressively effortless over the table. The specialty: w083 attracts all eyes even when it is switched off, but without drifting into showmanship. The functionality of the w083 is as impressive as the slim, organic shape of it.
The real lamp is made of cast aluminium and it sits on a base of silicone. The special shape and the balanced weight of the Wästberg lamp enable the free, soft movement in the silicone form. This is an impressively simple and clever solution to turn or incline the lamp, in order to direct the light optimally to where it is needed.
Technically the lamp w083 by Massaud impresses as well: Energy efficient LEDs hide in the lamp’s head, spreading warm white light with 3000 K. The optical lenses spread the light generously downwards and glare-free. A three-level dimmer in the base makes the unique lamp from Wästberg suitable for different situations in all kinds of rooms and surroundings: it can be used as working lamp, reading lamp, accent light or decoration lamp.
