Alvar Aaltos Pendant Light A110 from Artek, also known as Hand Grenade was designed in the year 1952.
The worldwide known architect initially designed the lamp for the Finnish Engineer association building. Shortly after that, the same model A110 was used in the Säynätsalo City hall saloon. The Pendant Lamp is a Finnish design classic today.
Because of its characteristic thin post and thick head form, that farther reminds of a stick hand grenade, the A110 Lamp gained the cognomen Hand Grenade.
The Pendant Lamp A110 appears with a contact plug to the roof and a 2,5m long black synthetic cable inclusive. The lamp consists of black painted aluminum and has a polished brass-ring. As illuminant, the manufacturer Artek suggests for the A110 Pendant Lamp a 60 W bulb with a E 27 bulb fitting, or an energy-saving lamp with 11 W.
