Design table lamp with wavy curved diffuser
The table lamp Mezzachimera is the little brother of the Chimera floor lamp. It was designed in 1969 by Vico Magistretti for the Italian lighting manufacturer Artemide . The elegant wave form of the lamp is underlined by the translucent white of the body.
Mezzachimera creates indirect light. The three illuminants illuminate the entire luminaire body from the inside with different intensities. As a result, the waveform of the lamp is elegantly accentuated and emphasizes its sculptural character.
The translucent body of Artemide s Mezzachimera is made of methacrylate. The wavy shape of the lamp is achieved by hot bending the material during the manufacturing process. The base is made of painted metal.
