The German designer Constantin Wortmann likes to play with the perception of the observer. His Cobra table lamp made for Georg Jensen looks dynamic and it is a typical example of his transformation vision.
Wortmann translated the flowing language of the Collection of Georg Jensen into a new context with his Cobra table lamp. The lamp’s base wriggles upwards like the Cobra of its name. The lampshade of the Cobra table lamp keeps the lateral shining light soft and diffuse, while part of the light beam shines directly upwards and downwards, lighting the room the lamp is in.
Table lamp with snake-like vivacity
”Cobra looks like she was fighting gravity, standing up and floating”, explained Wortmann. The table lamp spreads snake-like vivacity. More transformations are possible, especially combined with other products of Georg Jensen’s Cobra collection.
The flowing expression of the Cobra objects by Georg Jensen is dynamic on every surface they stand, becoming a stylish furnishing accessory with its functionality.
