The New Wave by Verner Panton was created as early as 1970 in collaboration with the traditional Danish glass manufacturer Holmegaard. The characteristic table lamp produced by Verpan today impresses with its horizontal lines and clear silhouette, which still appears modern.
Verner Panton always enjoyed experimenting with the limits of materials: production from opal glass, without any design discontinuity, could only be achieved at the time with difficulty. The glass forms the harmonious shape of the Verpan New Wave, which - typical for Panton - appears organic and yet clear.
The organic table lamp grows like a mushroom in height, with the foot and shade melting into one. Thanks to its shape and the wave relief, the New Wave achieves diffuse internal lighting, not least through two lightbulbs (E14 max. 40W), which appears light and elegant. The anodised cast metal base ensures consistently firm footing.
The lamp comes with a white textile cable matching the opal glass. Every Verpan product is delivered with a certificate of authenticity. This certificate guarantees that it is an original product which is still produced today according to the strict quality specifications made by Verpan.
