Description

Modular 556 floor lamp from Midgard

The reedited Modular 556 floor lamp from Midgard is one of the first luminaires in the Midgard portfolio to be put back into production. First manufactured in the 1920s under the brand name Midgard, the machine lamp is one of the first articulated lights of the classical modern age. Curt Fischer's designs were a particularly strong inspiration for the influential designer and architect Walter Gropius and the Bauhaus School.

Whether next to the desk or as a reading lamp next to the sofa - the Midgard floor lamp, manufactured in Germany, sets shapely accents in every living room. The maintenance-free joints are a special feature of the floor lamp. Curt Fischer had found a way of preventing the screws of the steering arm from loosening - even when moving frequently - and thus from having to be retightened.
