The IQlight system is a unique Danish design from 1973 – created by Danish designer Holger Strøm. Each IQlight consists of a number of equal modules that are assembled to form a lamp. Depending on the number of modules and the pattern for building the lamp, it is possible to construct up to 21 different lamps – or even to create one’s own design.
The modules of the IQlight® are made of white rigid PVC film, which is flexible and resistant as well as easy to clean. The modules completely enclose the cable of the suspension when the lamp is hung, so that only one cable and a normal socket is needed for mounting.
The interplay of the individual modules creates a tense arch that forms small openings in the light, organic surface of the IQlight®. These openings ensure a soft diffusion of the light and give the IQlight® a unique expression. The name “IQlight®” emphasises the geometric shape of the lamp and stands for “Interlocking Quadrilaterals”.
IQlight® by Novoform won the Interior Innovation Award at the Cologne furniture fair in 2005. The packaging of the lamp, which was also designed by Holger Strøm, won the Danish Design Award in 2001.
IQlight® by Novoform is available in six different sizes.
