Pendant lamp with a classic shaped shade and perforated structure
Tatou is a pendant lamp by Flos, whose classically shaped lampshade surprises with an unusual structure.
Designer Patricia Urquiola says:"The process started when we tried to reconstruct membranes that are constructed like traditional Japanese armor. The overlapping, geometric structure and the manual expression have a strong emotional component. The structure also reminds me of Armadillo." For this reason, Flos also the nameTatou, in Englisharmadillo, for the lamp with the unusual structure.
Direct and slightly diffuse light
The scattered light from the Flos Tatou mostly shines directly downwards, where it is suitable for illuminating dining tables and other central places in the apartment. A slightly diffuse light shines through the lampshade, which emphasizes the silhouette and structure of the lamp effectively. Despite the openings in the shade, the light is glare-free because there is an opal-colored plastic diffuser inside the Tatou .
