Designer pendant lamp with three glass shades
The PH 4½-4 Glass Pendant by Louis Poulsen is the pendant version of the popular and versatile Poul Henningsen lamp with three shades. Thanks to its three shades of glass, it emits glare-free light with soft shadows and is ideal for the living room, or as an atmospheric light above the table in the dining room. The basic version of the now legendary lamp was created by designer and architect Poul Henningsen in the mid-1920s.
High-quality materials for first-class design
The PH 4½-4 glass pendant luminaire from Louis Poulsen consists of a three-part shade made of mouth-blown opal glass. Socket and suspension are made of high-gloss chrome-plated aluminum.
Architecture and Light: Poul Hennigsen
Poul Henningsen was born in Copenhagen, the son of the famous Danish actress Agnes Henningsen. He did not graduate as an architect, but studied at the Frederiksberg Technical School from 1911-1914 and then at the Technical College in Copenhagen from 1914-17. He also began to apply traditional functionalist architecture. However, his professional interest soon focused mainly on lighting design - and that is what he is famous for.
