The Mezzachimera table lamp is the little brother of the Chimera floor lamp. It was created in 1969 by Vico Magistretti for Italian lamp manufacturer Artemide. The elegant, wavy shape of the lamp is underlined by the transparent white of the lamp’s body.
Mezzachimera creates indirect light. The three bulbs light up the whole body of the lamp from inside in different intensities. This way the wavy shape of the lamp is elegantly accentuated and underlines its sculptural character.
The transparent body of the Artemide Mezzachimera is made of methacrylate. The wavy shape is achieved by bending the material while it is still hot during the manufacturing process. The base of the lamp is made of lacquered metal.
